Growing up, in the last Century, 80 neighbors who had in the SEVENTEENTH Century, for nearly Seven Hundred inhabitants, Oliveira, who was formerly known for Ulveira, was the solar of the family of this surname and a vigararia of the Convent of Tibães.
In 1220, it was called De Sancta Eolalia of Ulveira, and was included in the Lands of the Meadow, and, together with the village of S. Romão da Ucha, was part of the famous Couto and Honor de Azevedo.
To corroborate this fact, are the ruins found in the House of the Olive-tree, still within the limits of this parish with Cervães, Vila Verde), which seem to relate to the ancient Tower of Gomariz, a solar ancient ally, by Marriage, with the House of Azevedo.
The beautiful Parish Church of this parish, which has in its chapel a altar carved renaissance above which are the arms of the Benedictine Order, located in sitio alto, in which, as in the Place of the Palace, met the finds of the season of late-roman and high-medieval.
And from there, well of the high place of the Church, the view is breathtaking: you can see a whole stretch of land, which includes the beautiful Valley of the river Cávado, Vila Verde, where you can see the Chapel of the Good Order of the Cervães and even the city of Braga.
